| 1175473 | 2011-02-06 00:05:00 | Hi I've been using Active@ Disc Image to regularly backup my entire Primary hard drive to a 1TB WD external hard drive. During the course of this the data is compressed (I use the default compression setting). As time goes by I have to delete the oldest image to make room for the newest one. Also, the new images are going to grow slightly in size. After a while I suppose things will get more on more fragmented, so is it a) necessary and b) safe to defrag the backup drive with this compressed data on it? On my normal drive I have been using Auslogistics Defragger - I'm on Vista HP SP2 Thanks |
