There can be accommodation benefit on top of that if you don't have your own place, up to $180/wk I think. Also you should be getting $20/wk heating allowance for the colder months of Winter, Yay Labour. |

The dole is $218.98 for over 25 yrs old. Accommodation? Well my brother gets an extra $20 a week to help with his $168 a week board. |

From memory it was because of the conditions in your native country for the poor and injured that the unemployment benefit and universal superannuation was introduced by the early governments of NZ. |
