| 1459364 | 2019-03-23 05:52:00 | When/if there's a buy-back, will the full cost of the weapon be refunded? What about extra mags? What about custom scopes? What about custom engraving? |

| 1459365 | 2019-03-23 05:53:00 | well there is the debate. at what length do you go to. if its good enough for California why not for us? any gun you can unfix or modify to put big magazines on. you can convert bolt action to semi-auto (nz military adopted one for a short time). you can make home made guns if you want. so what lengths is it worth going to? if you put the fixed mag in, put a bit of glue around it, then you would need to destroy the gun to get it out to fit a big mag in. to be honest their best move is to actually get rid of the high capacity mags. why? because its really hard to make good working ones. even aftermarket ones can be absolutely rubbish. they are critical to the semi-auto function. so they have to be very well made. some older guns used to come with big mags and when those mags come up for sale, they are worth more than the gun itself. people will pay that sort of money rather than make one. Stop making so much sense, you can't get praise from the world's leftist media with an attitude like that. |

| 1459366 | 2019-03-23 06:08:00 | for you a-cat ar15 buffs I'm certainly not going to light any fires again . . . . . but here in the US --- we only get fractions of news concerning what's going on in Upsidedown Land . I present a C/P from what is SUPPOSEDLY from one of your news-sources that has been re-transmitted via BuzzFeed . com ---> for your comments and for my edification . Personally I think this report is BS 'cause I'm pretty sure that youse guys would not like to be turned into instant law defying subjects . But this is the stuff we hear . . . . . . . . [/I] It's been amazing, over the last week I've been flicking between CNN/MSNBC/FOX and they've all been using it to push their own agendas . US media and politicians have been disgusting over this . Nevertheless Stuff . co . nz ( . stuff . co . nz/national/christchurch-shooting/111384083/christchurch-mosque-attacks-kiwis-start-voluntarily-handing-in-semiautomatic-weapons" target="_blank">www . stuff . co . nz) and the Herald ( . nzherald . co . nz/nz/news/article . cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12213947" target="_blank">www . nzherald . co . nz) both had big articles gleaming over how a few people had the heart to hand in their weapons to the police for destruction . I agree with tweak'e, most people will just stay silent until they hear about what the price and conditions for the buy back are . |

In the meantime, Whaleoil remains the most widely read and followed political blog in NZ . One of the most respected contributors is Debbie, whom I previously sourced for comment . I'd recommend put your misgivings or mistrust aside and look objectively at the content . :) |

| 1459369 | 2019-03-23 06:43:00 | Now, please --- youse guys tell me what's up . . . . . . . . . . . OK? . . . . . and I'll send it to a decently pivotal site I frequent here in the US . . . . . . . Joe, it seems to have escaped your notice, but I have been - on purpose - regularly posting in full, the NZ Police press releases . Factual, apolitical, concise accounts of what is really happening . Devoid of conjecture, media, social comment, political agenda, lobbying . :) |

| 1459370 | 2019-03-23 06:51:00 | All we know at this stage is that there will be one. Yes, this government further spending our money yet again irresponsibly. Expenditure we can't afford. Reducing even further the healthy reserves they inherited when taking over the Treasury benches. |

| 1459371 | 2019-03-23 06:54:00 | Jim Jefferies on gun control ... the right to bear arms. Settle down. This is a family forum, he's talking about bear, not bare arms :eek: Originally posted by CYaBro, I thought it deserved a bump ... Click HERE (vimeo.com) Here's a good line "You can't change the 2nd Amendment". "Yes you can, it's called an amendment" Here's another good one: "50% of the people [in this room] realise that this is a comedy show and it's not to be taken seriously and they're laughing along because it's just funny jokes." |

Perhaps the value of the weapon rather than the cost might be refunded? (Although the depreciation on a crushed weapon renders the value fairly low.) Extra mags will get you extra feel-good points for surrendering them rather than having them stored in a Solar-deprived region. Custom scopes will be returned after the lenses and other materials are removed (It's the thought that counts.) Custom engraving will be returned after the wood, plastic and metal bits are removed and crushed. (Australians get a special discount plus a lifetime supply of Lucas ammunition, guaranteed fire-proof.) ;) |
