2019-05-04 11:49:00 | And a rates rebate as well if you live in your own home. We got $630 off our rates this year (the amount depends on your property valuation):) | Arnie (6624) | |

2019-05-04 21:44:00 | rates rebates are dependant on your A)Income and B)Rates cost www.govt.nz A couple on pension earn too much and therefore get $0 off. As was the case when my dad was still alive. Now my mum is on her own she qualifies, it's a maximum of $630. Friends dad also gets it...big deal as his rates are $3600 a year.

Small businessmen think they keep the country running financially and all the beneficiaries are taking their hard-earned money, but they fail to see the bigger picture. Luckily so far they aren't running the country, heaven help us if the right-wing gets in charge again, austerity measures for everyone except them and in the end a failing economy. |

2019-05-04 23:42:00 | I wonder if there is a correlation between the people who can't see that global warming is a reality and can't see in the same way how the economy of the country as a whole is not well served by the small-minded philosophy of right-wing business people. That a whole lot of people working flat out and combining into corporations has brought us to the point where we may not even have a future at all. We were taught at University Economics 101 that about 10% of the population can serve all the physical needs of the rest of the community, ie food, housing etc, thus the rest of the population is free to do as they please to get some money tokens to participate in the economy or not ie burger flipping or hairdressing for instance. The problem is not to run the economy it's to distribute the wealth of the country in an equitable way to all concerned, as none of us are really going anywhere at all except making more or less revolutions around the Sun, and there is nowhere else to go anyway.

2019-05-04 23:55:00 | They are so caught up in the bumph (the bits and bobs) of living that they have lost sight of the big picture. Advertising is one way that the big corporations lead people astray into buying a whole lot of crap. It's not live to work it's work to live, and spending a whole life working to amass physical objects is a waste of anyone's life.
