It took over 20 years of planning, similar to the Auckland Harbour bridge, as the two Councils are joined at the hip. Interestingly, Council wanted The Bridge higher (to allow for the rising sea I guess) but the Port Authority figured that may take a while, and chose the dredging of the harbour option. All good, because the sea hasnt risen, and the climate hasnt changed. :clap |
