1459886 2019-04-25 06:14:00 Another stupid saying, "legal speak of course", is "fee simple" .

Our land was State owned, but we were able to freehold/fee simple it by paying cash . Think land has to be offered to Ngai Tahu now, as a further and final payment under the treaty . The Red Zone here in ChCh . will probably go down that track one day as a you know what! .

Our home is freehold of course and we could take out one of those oldie reverse mortgage thingys, but h!ll, who would want that to struggle with that .

Yes, sorry my house is mortgage free

Yes I have heard those reverse mortgages can turn quite nasty if you plan to live for a long time .

1459888 2019-04-25 07:39:00 I also feel kind of tired from work and is planning to take control of our family business instead since none of my siblings want it. But then again I still need to work on my PR skills as I am not friendly like my Mom. mrgrtt123 (17666)

1459890 2019-04-28 08:06:00 The first thing that happens when you retire is that everyone assumes that you may be bored, and in my case, tune up their car or computer. You must let them know that your time is valuable, and that you expect to be paid for your services. This weeds out the scroungers, and the remaining ones provide some welcome pocket money. I always seem to have a full day, and keep a 'TO DO' list just to jog my memory. mzee (3324)
