1459774 2019-04-09 22:05:00 Watching that video made me nervous. Too much information really - those things that face unimaginable forces are just put together like a meccano set, with actual nuts and bolts and spanners??

And its surprisingly few nuts and bolts too. Especially holding things like the tail on :D

Too much information really - those things that face unimaginable forces are just put together like a meccano set, with actual nuts and bolts and spanners?? I remember my first flight on a DC3 (from Alexandra to Gore!) and looking out the window and seeing all the rivets on the wings etc, and some looked like they were moving! It just looked like they could act like a zip and the wing would tear along the dotted line.

Gee that spanner and socket set is pretty long.
It would only just fit in a car.
But yes those designs have been standing up for the last 30 years or so.
Very few crashes due to air frame failure.

Remember, they have to set up the conveyor belt first. And wind up the cuckoo clock.
