| 1457384 | 2019-01-17 13:44:00 | In windows 7 I could have gadgets to tell me how much ram and cpu was being used. Now I'm in windows 10 and doing some video editing and would like to know if I need more Ram and a better computer? | lostsoul62 (16011) | ||

The free ones are quite basic but may do what you want. Not as "glitzy" as W7's www.microsoft.com OR for the Windows 7 Gadgets, download the Gadget pack, just tried it, works well. :) win7gadgets.com |

| 1457388 | 2019-01-18 05:36:00 | Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 4 cores/4 threads This is most likely your bottleneck, though you would probably see a reasonable increase in performance by bumping your memory up to 16GB. Unless you're ONLY browsing the web and checking email, by recommendation to most people who ask me is 16GB of memory and for the CPU nothing less than a 4 cores/4 threads CPU at a minimum. I'd hazard a guess that in your case both the current CPU and memory are restrictive. You are unlikely to squeeze much more performance out of the CPU to be fair but increasing memory may give you a slight boost... only just though. Probably time to upgrade really. Cheers, |
