1457216 2019-01-10 02:52:00 Pretty much as the title says.

I have an SG-K7 case (www.pbtech.co.nz). By default it has 3 x 120mm fans at the front (currently acting as intake), and then 1 x 120mm fan on the rear as an exhaust. The intake fans don't have great access to air due to the solid tempered glass front.

It has room for 2 x 120mm fans on the top, which I'm going to add.

What combination of intake/exhaust fan placement would people recommend?

You probably don't need to add any fans unless you are running an extreme overclock and pushing your system to 100% for hours on end, which is unlikely.

That segotep case is not all that well designed for airflow, but honestly the one fan on the rear is probably doing enough by itself for an average system to maintain reasonable temperatures.
There are a lot of cases around that favour looks over airflow particularly on the front panel, but they get away with it because nobody really needs four case fans

It's definitely not the best case ever - missing front and top dust filters among other things. As some point down the line I'll shell out for a new case, but that's a wee way away.

I had some thermaltake fans that barely lasted 6 months when used that way.

1457220 2019-01-12 23:55:00 Thanks for that - was not aware the horizontal mount could cause issues with some fans. I'll have a look into it. Nick G (16709)
1457221 2019-01-21 07:57:00 I've got a Segotep here too. Umm can't remember which one it is. 2 fans at the front 2 on top 1 at the back.

All I did was cut off the molex connectors and installed 2 4 pin adapters. And changed it to PWM in the BIOS, for all the fans
