1177644 2011-02-13 01:47:00 a friend of mine has just got a new laptop( toshiba satellite).

when they turned it on a recovery window opened giving the option of 32 or 64bit windows 7.

they pressed cancel, it ran through installation ok, setup password and was away.

the laptop has 4GB ram, and they would like to reinstall to 64bit windows.

there doesnt appear to be a recovery partition, is there a hidden partition or way to do so.

no disc(of course) came with it.

surely i can run installation again.:thanks

1177646 2011-02-13 02:29:00 There will be a hidden recovery partition normally. You wont see it because the drive letter more than likely is removed. The recovery will be in the form of a .WIM file(s) which will install what ever version you select.

Depending on what model you have, there are different ways to enter the recovery - One way (www.geekpolice.net) used it once on a customers Laptop.
