| 1177413 | 2011-02-12 05:27:00 | Hi - firstly i am not a computer expert and trying to get a wireless network running. I purchased an SRP527 however the provider I was to connect to was unable to provide a useful service once we connected to them and then had to disconnect. I am now with Telstra Clear cable internet. I would like to connect to the SRP527 through port 4 which says WAN/LAN to the motorola surfboard SB5100i. The tech that configured the cable said it should work (as he departed). Firstly is this possible or am I wasting my time with the 527 or what config should I have? He gave me the IP, Gateway, Subnet and Primary and Secondary DNS. Any help would be great. Geoff |

Edited: just looked at the manual for that router -- Does it have the WAN port listed seperate ? Because there is also a ADSL version, which wont work on Telstra cable. look on port #4, does it say LAN/WAN |

| 1177416 | 2011-02-12 07:28:00 | hi - direct link has it working. that is plugging it directly into the router but i am not sure any settings will matter for that. I still cannot get wireless or the voip ports to work Ideas |

| 1177417 | 2011-02-12 07:40:00 | Port #4 says LAN/WAN but not a seperate WAN port. So currently I have a Motorola surfboard modem connecting the cable from T-Clear. Then a cable connecting the modem to the 527. connecting the cat 5 patch cable from my laptop to the 527 it means the internet gets through but the router still doesnt. | saus (16230) | ||
| 1177418 | 2011-02-12 08:28:00 | If the SRP527w wont work then will have to look at a SRP521 or WRP400. Hoping they will be easy to configure. Still will press on with the 527 till I definatly know it is not an option. Cheers | saus (16230) | ||

To enter the settings on the router Try these ( . imagef1 . net . nz/files/Router . jpg" target="_blank">www . imagef1 . net . nz) . If that password doesn't work try admin admin When you enter the settings look for This here ( . imagef1 . net . nz/files/Static . jpg" target="_blank">www . imagef1 . net . nz) the highlighted area, "should" give you the option of static IP - select it, then fill in Telstras numbers you were given . How it works in simple terms, The Telstra modem will feed the IP address into the router, the router then issues out multi address's . IF you have Telstras IP address still on the PC, then it wont work Via the router . |

| 1177420 | 2011-02-12 09:08:00 | Yes all set as per the settings given but it could be the selection I have made for the WAN selection. I have selected RFC1483 Bridged ethernet over ATM - Static IP. the other options i have are as above but DHCP rather than Static IP and IP over ATM. the other setting i am not sure about is ATM PVC. Do you what should the VPI and VCI have for numbers if known? | saus (16230) | ||

But unfortunatly it doesnt have any data connection as I cannot see any data. | saus (16230) | ||
| 1177422 | 2011-02-12 09:34:00 | When I look at statistics page for the 527 there are packages transmitted and sent from the 527 | saus (16230) | ||
