1177509 2011-02-14 05:57:00 Even if your RAM isn't on the QVL it usually will still work anyway. They don't test every single possible combination.

I don't think I've got a single PC which uses a brand and model specifically certified as OK.

You can easily change the frequency and voltage in the BIOS somewhere. If it's not obvious, have a read of the manual. It will tell you there.

1177510 2011-02-14 06:04:00 but do the specs of my mobo and ram look like they should work together? smithinator (15240)
1177511 2011-02-14 06:08:00 What BIOS is on it? Since F13 enhances memory compatibility Speedy Gonzales (78)
1177512 2011-02-14 06:11:00 the bios version is f10 smithinator (15240)
1177513 2011-02-14 06:23:00 Might as well try upgrading to the latest F14 BIOS then for a start... Agent_24 (57)

1177515 2011-02-14 07:07:00 Nope it should still be the same file Speedy Gonzales (78)
1177516 2011-02-14 09:40:00 The idea is if you pick the server closest to your country you will get a faster download. The files would all be the same unless Gigabyte screwed something up. Agent_24 (57)
1177517 2011-02-15 05:09:00 well im running memtest and 15mins in i have almost 18k errors but i got the warranty replacement ram less than a week ago and the mobo i got (under warranty) maybe a little over a month ago, so what else could it be? smithinator (15240)
1177518 2011-02-15 05:38:00 Well that explains why you are having problems!

Either your RAM is DOA or the settings are wrong.

Go into the M.I.T. in your BIOS setup and select "Frequency Control" , from there you can change the frequency and voltage settings.

There should be some setting to "Enable XMP" which is what you may also need to do.
