1176568 2011-02-09 06:24:00 Sounds odd to me Speedy Gonzales (78)
1176569 2011-02-09 06:44:00 Only on THAT puter. All my other ones are fine.

The guy who owns that one is very happy now.

BTW: I just got 26 updates from M$ tonight

1176571 2011-02-09 06:53:00 I shut that unit down for the night. I am on my Eee-PC right now as I am getting ready for bed.

What you did yesterday was outstanding and we are all very happy with the help. After this last problem is solved, I can give it back to him and have it outta my hair.

Neat trick to take one Host File out and rename the backup. I never knew about that trick.

Somewhere in FF of Google setting I have something that's messed up, and I will try to find it tomorrow. Right now I need a nocturnal rest.

You may be needed again - well, PROLLY be needed, I should say.

Say - can W7 be extracted from a HP repair disc?

1176572 2011-02-09 06:57:00 lol that was the easiest / fastest way to fix the hosts file (since the original was still there).

All you had to do, (if it wasnt there) was either delete all those sites that were in it. Or copy the hosts file from Vista or Win7 (and copy it to the same folder).

Let me know if you want me to check tomorrow sometime then. And we'll see if we can figure out how to fix it

1176573 2011-02-09 19:25:00 OK - I have some screen shots of what happens - but they are posted in reverse order.

The second one shows the link I am about to click from my GMail account - and the first shows the warning bar that drops down.

These screen shots are not on this puter - but on 'that' puter, if you know what I mean.

Here's an album link with two pixs for you: picasaweb.google.com
