1176712 2011-02-10 02:55:00 If it doesn't crash with flash disabled, then Murphys law ( right you know what as well) would suggest its flash thats causing the problem.

If you have a look at the link I posted in the post, what does/did yours say ? as in was it Adobe flash or something else, or nothing ?

You could try uninstalling flash, then reinstalling it again -- may or may not fix it.

That's what happens when SWMBO's banging on about the washing up at the same time  Gotta keep SWMBO happy eh ! :D

1176713 2011-02-10 03:14:00 Hi Wainui
Attached is what I said before I disabled it.

So, what do I do? Uninstall Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Active X?

1176714 2011-02-10 03:36:00 looking back at Mine (www.imagef1.net.nz) - I have earlier versions.

Suggestion, Uninstall the adobe flash - inable Chromes - see if it crashes. if it doesn't crash, see if FF & IE will still work on flash sites/content.

When ever I do a install I always find there are different versions of flash for FF & IE.

Open Chrome - do a google search for Flash Player - get This one Highlighted (www.imagef1.net.nz) - it "Should" detect its chrome and offer the correct version.

1176715 2011-02-10 03:54:00 Uninstall both then get the latest. The latest version is now 10.2.152.26. See if it makes a diff Speedy Gonzales (78)
1176716 2011-02-10 07:14:00 I have given up on Chrome for the following reasons:-
* It installs in the document data section of C drive instead of 'Program Files' where it should be,
* You can not reach the tabs in full page.
* It places downloads somewhere in the bowels of C, does not give you a choice

I am using Opera 11 at the moment, very good. Handy keyboard shortcuts and mouse gestures, has all the normal tool bar buttons, fast and accurate.

Give it a go.

1176717 2011-02-10 23:11:00 In all the "excitement" about the possible imminent failure of my hard drive (still waiting for further advice :)) I've kinda lost track of this.

I uninstalled one instance of Adobe Flash and so Chrome is now telling in adons it's got left what's shown in the Ist attachment. This locks chrome up if enabled.

Looking in Revo uninstaller I've got what's shown in the second attachment - What does the Active X bit mean and do I get rid of it?

I've downloaded what seems to be the installer for the non IE version (is that what's needed?) of Adobe Flash 10.2.152.26. This seems to want to download other files - is this right?

What next please? :thanks

1176718 2011-02-10 23:15:00 The activex flash install is for IE. The other is for Opera / FF etc Speedy Gonzales (78)
1176719 2011-02-10 23:16:00 The file you downloaded from Adobe is their download manager - run it, and it will down load the required guff and install.

If this will cause Chrome to crash again, is only trial and error.
