1177589 2011-02-13 01:05:00 swapped pwer supply,still the same.
Getting rid of viruses etc would'nt do this would it? No a virus wont stop it from booting,it may only go so far if windows files are corrupted. A PC will boot into the BIOS without a HDD.

From what you mentioned so far - it's sounding like a motherboard problem.

When it was going, did is just suddenly shut down, or was it off, and then not start ?

1177590 2011-02-13 01:09:00 it was in the middle of a scan and it completely froze for like 30 mins,so I had to flick the switch at the wall, turned it back on and nothing. sk69ersnz (13476)
1177591 2011-02-13 02:04:00 Check the BIOS battery isn't flat, it can cause problems if it is...

But it sounds like something has failed.

You could try what worked for me once on a PC that wouldn't start at all, disassemble and reassemble the entire thing.

It sucks because I spent all night getting rid of of malware, finally cleaned it and was about to drop it off then this happened.I might just leave it to the pros I think.Big Thanks to everyone for helping.

Trust me ;) That sort of failure can happen to anyone at anytime.

Not to good when you are cleaning out a PC and then have to call the customer to say they have faulty hardware as well ----- Sometimes through, they turn around and say something like -----

1177596 2011-02-13 20:41:00 He means he got it broken, had it going well after Speedy helped him in a previous thread, and now it's blown up and he's come back asking for help with the new issue. 8ftmetalhaed (14526)
