2011-02-10 08:28:00 | Is the ram thats in it 1333 ram or 1066 ram? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2011-02-10 08:28:00 | @cato, works fine with old ram @speedy, i also run/use ubuntu. it wont even let me access bios with the 2gb stick in Did you try the old and new RAM together? Could be incompatible, otherwise faulty RAM. Get in touch with the trader and try to sort something out.

2011-02-10 08:29:00 | In that case shouldn't only Windows refuse to boot? Doesnt look like it turns on according to the first post The problem is, when I try to boot the netbook with the 2gb stick in, nothing 'works', i have a black screen, the hd light doesnt come on, no bios options, all that happens is the cpu fan spins. There's only 1 slot

2011-02-10 08:35:00 | Doesnt look like it turns on according to the first post Yes... Hence my question. hkingsbury: Most likely faulty RAM, not much you can do about it save test it in another machine.

2011-02-10 09:08:00 | Windows 7 Starter itself supports 2GB of RAM. Otherwise, I'm with everyone else - incompatible RAM. That max RAM spec may be poorly worded - perhaps those models shipped with Win7 Starter only support 1GB? :pf1mobmini:
