Firefox has its own proxy setting. Chrome doesnt. It uses IE's settings. So, no its not global. If you change the proxy in FF, it doesnt change in Chrome, or vice-versa. |

2011-02-09 02:19:00 | I have no idea what youre talking about now SJ lol. And where this is coming from. Or how are you getting it | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2011-02-09 02:22:00 | OK - you said that the Proxy setting for Chrome is in IE - and I'm good with that - but just wondered why something by Google would even use a setting from IE. Is there some hanky-panky in the Chrome/M$ camp? And why are they even IN that same camp?

2011-02-09 02:27:00 | Well I think Chrome uses IE's proxy settings (I'm pretty sure the last time I used Chrome it did). | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2011-02-09 02:33:00 | 'Chrome uses IE's proxy settings' - YES for SURE or whatever IE is set to use. | zqwerty (97) | |
2011-02-09 02:34:00 | I'm on it now. Don't totally UNDERSTAND it, but I will take it for what it's worth.

2011-02-09 02:49:00 | There's more than one browser that uses IE's setting. The smaller sized browsers use it too. Thats probably why they're small | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2011-02-09 02:53:00 | FYI - I did what you said and went into IE and changed the Proxy to NONE of the above (lol) and Chrome now works - as does IE, about which I care very little. | SurferJoe46 (51) | |
2011-02-09 02:57:00 | It's a conspiracy. Chrome was not written from the ground up and inherits some settings from Windows or IE. | Snorkbox (15764) | |
