| 1176836 | 2011-02-10 08:12:00 | Hey I recently bought an Acer Aspire One D255 (the model with a 6cell battery and dual core atom) and it shipped with 1gb of ram. I wanted to upgrade the ram so i also bought a 2gb stick. The 2gb stick is a 1333mhz DDR3 just like the 1gb stick. The problem is, when I try to boot the netbook with the 2gb stick in, nothing 'works', i have a black screen, the hd light doesnt come on, no bios options, all that happens is the cpu fan spins. I'm rahter annoyed about this (as you can probably imagine) and i was wondering if any one could shed some light on my issue? Cheers, Hamish |

Thats the max If this is it (www.acer.co.nz) (Click on the D255 link) * Single-channel DDR3 SDRAM support with one soDIMM module (for model with Intel® Atom™ processor 550 only) • Up to 1 GB of DDR3 system memory (for Windows® 7 Starter for small notebook PCs) • Up to 2 GB of DDR3 system memory (for other operating systems) * Single-channel DDR2 SDRAM support with one soDIMM module (for model with Intel® Atom™ processor N450 only) • Up to 1 GB of DDR2 system memory (for Windows® 7 Starter for small notebook PCs) • Up to 2 GB of DDR2 system memory (for other operating systems) |

| 1176842 | 2011-02-10 08:24:00 | Sounds like faulty or incompatible 2GB module to me. Put the 1GB module back in and make sure it still works and then take the 2GB model back to where you bought it. |
