2010-09-08 23:47:00 | Gave up reading when they put getting a virus as an online crime although strictly true but basically a scare report. | mikebartnz (21) | |
2010-09-09 03:59:00 | Not morons but always out for a quick buck or an easy wangle. | zqwerty (97) | |
2010-09-09 04:30:00 | Well I guess it depends on the severity of the virus. Some wouldn't be counted as Scams, some are simply drive-by-downloads, whereas others infect you by scamming you ... It's hard to know. | Chilling_Silence (9) | |
2010-09-09 04:50:00 | 90% of the time these quoted percentage figures are 100% bogus. ** pull a number out the the hat, make sure its a higher number than expected ** you will never need to prove or justify it ** the more ridiculous you make it the more publicity it will get

2010-09-09 05:50:00 | A virus is an online crime? I know it sucks to be infected buuut doesn't seem like its a cybercrime? Less than half (45 per cent) of New Zealanders said they would report the crime to police. Tbh I don't think the police would give two shits if you rang them and told them you got a virus. Seems like they are including irrelevant information to get publicity.

2010-09-09 06:03:00 | So what they are saying is 70% of NZ Adults are morons? 61 per cent picking up viruses or malware (malicious software). Ten per cent of New Zealanders have responded to online scams and 7 per cent have had their social networking profile hacked or their credit cards used fraudulently. Two per cent have experienced identity theft. What they mean is most people think their antivirus protects them against everything - spyware and stupidity.

2010-09-10 14:47:00 | And yet I have seen multiple pranks (such as those programs which open your CD drive and make farting noises) detected as viruses too. Does that mean that jokes are also a crime?
