| 1178628 | 2011-02-15 23:18:00 | Hi, I was transferring data to my 1TB WD external hard drive and by accident tripped over the power cord (lol). Now it shows up as "Local Disk (M:)" and when i double click it, it says the disk needs to be formatted before you can use it. Is there anything I can do to restore it? |

| 1178632 | 2011-02-16 03:58:00 | It may not be physical damage, perhaps just filesystem damage as data or power connection was probably interrupted when you tripped over it. If you want to be sure you lose as least as possible, get another drive with enough free space on it to save all your files and start using some recovery program. A simple CHKDSK might fix it, but if there IS physical damage may make things a lot worse... |
