2010-09-15 23:28:00 | pcworld.co.nz Sounds like a great feature. Silicon-level control, hard-coded into the processor. Can you turn it off?

Enterprise products like SCCM have a duel roll of app deployment, security management "and" allowing remote login etc. You can Wakeup on Lan a remote machine as long as the switches are configured to allow it. Logging onto another machine at home within your own network RDP is fine, cant see a advantage with Virtual Network Computing. seems like a gimmick to me, not feeling it You can turn a machine off on your own network with the shutdown console command if you have permissions. |

2010-09-16 00:08:00 | Battleneter2 - this isn't really a feature targeted at the home user, it's more useful in an enterprise setting. You can find more info about the various features of IAMT here (en.wikipedia.org).

2010-09-16 00:41:00 | You do realise it can be turned off? It's just another chipset feature. | Erayd (23) | |
2010-09-16 00:52:00 | Of course, and I'd turn it off. Not that it should make any difference, since I don't buy Intel products anyway.

2010-09-16 10:26:00 | It looks like a great feature to me. Being able to turn on one's PC and access it remotely sounds potentially handy. I will make sure my next laptop has it and have a play :)

2010-09-16 19:48:00 | It will become the next iHave feature probably :horrified | gary67 (56) | |
