1137509 2010-09-15 22:04:00 Not that I use IE any more (where I can help it), but I hope they've sorted their beta install/uninstall routine out. The last time I installed an IE beta (7?) it was so buggy I uninstalled it - and that completely stuffed the install of the Production version. Had to do a rebuild of the damn PC...

I know they recommend "advanced users only" to install beta software, but of lot of curious people also "have a go" in the often mistaken belief that it will be fine...

1137510 2010-09-15 22:22:00 The install/uninstall in IE9 is pretty good. No worries about wasting any production versions already installed. ubergeek85 (131)
1137511 2010-09-15 23:22:00 Hmmm, Freeware Files is offering two versions, one for Vista and one for Win7,

1137513 2010-09-16 00:40:00 Yeah, I don't use Beta versions of anything from Microsoft unless it's on a sacrificial installation of Windows for testing.

(Microsoft also suggest not to use their betas on production machines)

If only they would make a version for XP :(

Dude, it's nine years old! It's only three years younger than 98!

1137515 2010-09-16 00:54:00 So? It's still a damn good operating system and a lot lighter and faster than Vista or 7

Just because something is old doesn't mean it's bad.

I also like Windows 3.11 quite a lot.

I don't know about that.. I am not too techy a person, but for my self, Windows 7 blows all previous Windows OS's away.

On a system with 512MB RAM, sure, but when was the last time you saw one of those? ;)
