1137413 2010-09-17 01:51:00 Interesting point...if Rodney Hide is forced to resign from Parliament over this scandal, then do all the other list MPs who came in on his coat tails also get kicked out ?

After all if Rodney goes then their raison d'être also goes ?
While Rodney was an idiot for backing this guy I don't think he should be the one resigning (although I wouldn't mind) but that twit Garrett should definitely go now.
Act are definitely imploding now. First we had the busted perk buster then Heather Roy and now Garrett.

You forgot the pig farmer, snouting away in the free travel perks trough, and then being indignant when he was challenged about it. "I am entitled" etc etc

1137415 2010-09-17 01:56:00 Will Mallard follow suit?

What about the deeds of some of the other MP's (and ex MPs). Cullen for example.

What about the gutter media mongrels?

Have to agree, those two are the same league

1137416 2010-09-17 02:03:00 I suspect that Rodney Hide will now be replaced by Heather Roy as leader of the Act Party. It was a vote from Garrett that kept that from happening before.

It's a party that had 5 MPs and now there are 4.

I don't suggest that Hide should resign but I would think he has now lost backing from fellow MPs over this matter.

1137417 2010-09-17 02:13:00 Now that Garrett has resigned from Act, assuming he is brazen enough to stay on as an independent, what does that mean under MMP?

If he resigns from Parliament, Act gets to foist yet another plonker on us, I understand that.

But if Garrett resigns from Act, but stays on in Parliament, do Act just lose one of their MPs, or do they get to appoint another one? If the latter is the case, then presumably the taxpayer has to fork out for 121 MPs rather than 120? Is that how it works, or is it just tough cheese to Act?

1137418 2010-09-17 02:18:00 The yanks have it worse with the Christian nutcase tea partiers.
Ha ha the Delaware nut who won selection had run a previous a campaign against masturbation.
Yet the crazy yanks vote a redneck, bible bashing, racist, anti abortion (even rape) no stem cell research.
Only thing I agree on is her pro gun stance. I love guns and would like American gun laws or lack of them here. Imagine the last surprise a home invasion burglar in NZ would get seeing the flash from a shotgun barrel and a flurry of zero zero shot heading for his body.
And you can legally in the US wax this type of people. I take it back that Republican chick in Delaware may not be not so bad.

1137419 2010-09-17 02:18:00 I got caught out by this one too - I think Terry is messing with us. I am sure that Act loonies would say their raison d'être are loony notions such as those espoused in the post above by the squatter from Swannanoa, and by failed pig farmers like Douglas.
Fixed that for you John.:D

Oh, I didn't know that! Thank you!
