When I push the power button, the big "Q" compaq logo pops up, then black screen, white letters saying "BootMGR is missing, press ctrl+alt+delete to restart", and that is as far as I can ever go.:badpc: I don't know what shes done to it. any ideas?? how do I fix that? presumably put a windows disc in the optical drive and try to repair windows?? Thanks heaps guys.. |

| 1178144 | 2011-02-14 07:27:00 | If its XP this mostly works, insert XP CD, boot from it, select the "R" option to repair your system, you will load up the recovery Console Type in FIXMBR <press Enter> then type in FIXBOOt <press Enter> Then type in EXIT <press enter> If its Vista or W7 load up the Windows DVD, tell it to repair the computer, its on the same windows as install ( bottom left from memory) - dont hit install, it will reinstall windows if you carried on. |

Thanks speedy...it is win 7 home premium... will give that a shot when she comes bck, so I can get the discs off her........ she expected me to fix it so fast she didn't even leave me the power adapter.... |
