| 1136748 | 2010-09-13 03:10:00 | The Remuera man got the numberplate of the car that he believed the thieves fled in but said police had not done enough to recover his property. So he tracked down the car owner and went round to bang on her door last week. He visited her house and spoke to her father John who gave him her cellphone number and the address where his daughter was staying that night. McCluskey passed on the details to police. The Herald on Sunday also visited Wilson at home. She told the paper she had let her friend borrow her car that day. She declined to reveal her friend's identity. She claimed McCluskey had been harassing her. "I feel very disturbed," she said. "He shouldn't have the right to find my house. I was shocked that he was able to get my address." McCluskey said police had told him this week that they had still not spoken to Wilson. full story www.nzherald.co.nz |

| 1136753 | 2010-09-13 03:49:00 | On 1 hand the cops decide to do nothing......this year, the other, they join in the fun to humiliate the taggers and get in trouble. I would like to think I have respect for the police force but this does absolutely nothing to restore the public's faith in them after the battering f several duffed investigations and now an apparent nonchalance in following up the public help to them. Is it possible we have the MOST INEFFECTUAL plice force in the world backup up by a justice system too worried about political correctness to properly see through prosecutions? Time and time again, we read it all, evident tampering, corrupt officers, protection of corrupt officers, incorrect procedures, defendant rights before victims etc etc etc.... Time for a change of guard I think and some radical changes for the better. |

| 1136756 | 2010-09-13 05:15:00 | Interesting story. Even read some (very little) of the gp thread. I heard a while ago that you would no longer be able to get addresses from the post shop with a numberplate without legal reason or something along the lines of that. What happened to that. And $2 is cheap, IIRC it's $5 here. |

| 1136757 | 2010-09-13 05:22:00 | That's similar to what they had in the US in the 80's / 90's (getting addresses, thru reg numbers) to find out where people lived. This stopped in 1994, because a stalker / psycho shot an actress to death. It'll probably stop here (when its too late), when something like this happens | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
