| 1179890 | 2011-02-20 01:44:00 | I regularly use programs written in GW-BASIC. I recently purchased a new computer and printer. My old computer used a 15 pin computer cable wherwas my new computer uses a USB computer cable. With the old computer the GW-BASIC command LPRINT would send data to the printer and the printer would print the data to paper. With the new computer the GW-BASIC command LPRINT simply stops the running program and nothing is printed to paper. What do I need to do to get the new printer to print to paper? |

The way to do it would to be to network share the printer then use a command like 'net use lpt1: \\127.0.0.1\*printername* /persistant:yes' to map the usb printer to lpt1. Unsure how robust it will be, ive had to do a similar thing before and it seemed to break every now and again, so set up a batch file with that command that the user could run when it broke. |
