2011-02-19 01:20:00 | I bought a copy of Call of Pripyat a long time ago and playing it half and half . I kept it out for a while and started playing other games . Recently I came back to it and while playing for around, let say, 10 mins, it starts to lag down to around 15 to 20 fps for a min or less and then revert back to the normal 35 to 40 fps . This lag issue occurs every 5 to 10 mins . I tried everything possible: De-fragmented the game on steam Verified game cache on steam Defragmented my Cdrive (where steam and the game is installed) Started a new game Backed up the game, unintstalled it, uninstalled steam, downloaded steam again and reinstalled my backup again and also started a new game . Lowered all my video settings down including resolution from 1920x1080 (It ran just fine before) to 1200x900 . I have a dual screen setup so I swtiched my second screen off and tried to play the game with only the main screen activated Yet this occurrence still . . . occurs . When i FIRST installed CoP after buying i played for around 24 hours and it ran completely fine without a single issue . I'm exhausted over ideas and am looking for some urgent help from anyone who could provide me with a solution . My rig is as follows: Processor: Intel core i7 930 (8CPUS) RAM: 6GB GPU: Nvidia 880 GTS 640MB PSU: 550 WATT Windows 7 64bit I urge someone to help me with this issue since I really want to finished this game . PS: This issue is only with this game . I currently do play Rainbow6 Vegas 2 and that works fine apart for some lag in certain areas but thats due to my video settings . apart from that it runs smooth . CoP is the only game that seems to be having this issue . Cheers guys!

2011-02-19 01:43:00 | Trust me mate, I have searched google endlessly for the issue. None of those post helped me. I never post a thread with a problem until I have extensively searched on google and coming up with nothing at all. | ace (11127) | |
2011-02-19 01:59:00 | He just gave you links to the same issue. Did you read any of them? Contact whoever made it | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2011-02-19 02:18:00 | yes I have read all of them Speedy and I really am grateful. But Most of those posts in that link are not solved too. I was wondering if anyone in this forum knows much about this issue. | ace (11127) | |
2011-02-19 02:30:00 | Did you reinstall your graphics drivers? I ran into problems when I first got my PC, where I ended up with about 17 frames on l4d2 despite having played perfectly at the same settings about a week prior. After it updated, I reinstalled my CCC and it worked fine again.

2011-02-19 03:08:00 | Yes, Metalhead. I did a clean re-install of my graphics drivers and still the problem persists. Its funny. This game worked perfectly fine before with 90% of my video setting notched all the way up. I'm trying out the game with different settings one by one. Hope I get a solution soon.

2011-02-19 03:44:00 | I Processor: Intel core i7 930 (8CPUS) RAM: 6GB GPU: Nvidia 880 GTS 640MB ! Well. For one you get a great CPU and then pair it with a crap GPU. Should be the other way round if it has to be one or the other. Go read up on Toms Hardware about CPU versus GPU and bottlenecking etc. And on 1920 res too. Geez. However. As you say it was OK. Have you got Steam in Offline mode? For starters I'd do that. Steam is a pig. And do some malware scans to eliminate other things interferring.
