1179275 2011-02-17 20:43:00 Linksys WRT160N v2

Configured the following settings:

Policy 1: Week Days

Allowed days: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Time: From: 8.00 am To: 11.00 pm

Policy 2: Week ends

Allowed days: Friday, Saturday
Time: From: 8.00am To: 11.30 pm

Problem:

Policy 1 (week days) works fine as configured.

but, Policy 2 doesn't work as configured; for example, today, Friday, 9,30 am, Internet access is still blocked.

What have I done wrong?

1179278 2011-02-17 22:21:00 The v2 iteration of those are crap (Ralink chipset, underpowered CPU apparently) and the firmware is buggy as. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if I was you I'd get a WRT54GL. Chilling_Silence (9)

Well, it has been working faithfully for me for almost 2 years now and I don't see any reasons for changing to another make or model.

Hope this makes sense.

1179280 2011-02-17 23:13:00 Flaky firmware that gives you ^^ issues seems like a good reason to change ;) Chilling_Silence (9)

Well, may consider your suggestion when I got the extra money, or would you like to sponsor? :D

1179282 2011-02-20 21:37:00 To Chilling_Silence:

OK. gave up the Internet Access Policy configuring in this WRT160N.

Am now looking at this NB6PLUS4Wn user manual but couldn't find any Internet access Restriction control that can perform the tasks mention earlier.

What make and model would you recommend (must be able to accomplish the tasks mentioned earlier), Chilling?

1179283 2011-02-20 22:39:00 Linksys WRT54GL and then use either Tomato or Gargoyle

The WRT54GL doesn't do ADSL, just like the WRT160N, so unlike the NB6Plus4Wn you'll have to keep your existing ADSL modem.
