| 1180185 | 2011-02-21 05:47:00 | i I have installed the latest version of Arch linux and it boots to the grub menu where i select arch linux. It then proceeds to boot fine then goes to a command line. I log in as root but how do i start the GUI? Thanks |

Firstly install X. pacman -S xorg To install KDE: pacman -S kde For GNOME: pacman -S gnome startx Will start X (GUI) if you have it installed. I suspect if you have to ask, Arch probably isn't for you. Try Ubuntu or OpenSuse instead. |
