2011-02-17 20:51:00 | Ive constantly had issues using a linksys WAG160n and an ipod, to connect to the internet, every 10-15mins the IPod wireless would just stop working, and i would have to turn off the wireless settings on it and back on again to continue as normal. Im wondering if i have setup the wireless router right, as no other device has issues, and if i take the ipod elsewhere to a friends, the wireless works flawlessly. Im using WPA2 Personal, security, should i change to something else? Any ideas would be great, as its annoying trying to send an email, and i have to restart the wireless function everytime. | aidanmaz (7180) | |

2011-02-17 21:27:00 | I had a WAG160N, and it was horrible, overheating, all sorts, but I did have a 32GB ipod touch working with it no worries. Maybe try dropping the security down to WPA and/or changing the wireless channel. Firmware/software updates as Speedy suggested are also a good idea.

2011-02-17 22:24:00 | the ipod is up to date, i will check the firmaware for the router. It doesnt seem to over heat, but there are a few weird issues. So what channel should i be using? I not really a wireless person. | aidanmaz (7180) | |

2011-02-17 23:14:00 | Yeah they're flaky routers. The latest firmware helps a little, but to be honest you can pick up a WRT54GL for cheap as chips these days. Save yourself the headache... ;) | Chilling_Silence (9) | |
2011-02-17 23:24:00 | I wouldn't be so sure it's the router... I'd update the firmware on the ipod first. My dad's iphone 4 was terrible with his router (also constantly dropping), I looked into that and there were hundreds of posts about iphones and ipods dropping Wifi signal. | Cato (6936) | |
