Island :devil Fair enough, except peninsula is a noun, used especially when naming some peninsular body after some prominent or not so prominent person. Peninsular is an adjective describing the land mass itself, i.e. surrounded almost completely by water. And you're right, if (or when) that peninsular mass becomes completely surrounded by water, it would become an island. Christchurch would have to build its own harbour bridge. Let's not go there. And let's hope it doesn't happen anyway. Cantabrians have suffered enough. |
