1181207 2011-02-24 17:13:00 Its a lenovo laptop, but the recovery discs i burnt are useless as i modified the partitions that came with the laptop(as most people would...).

I tried using windows backup. It said i had 23GB of system files, and i tried burning the backup to a series of DVD discs. 7 DVD discs later, it was only 75% done, so im pretty sure windows backup ****ed up somewhere.

So i need a software that can do a backup of my laptop's windows installation. Any ideas?

Slight problem : My external HDD is truecrypt encrypted, so i wont be able to use image files on it to restore a backup if my OS dies.

1181210 2011-02-25 03:49:00 EaseUs Todobackup will do an image backup and split the backup into DVD sized pieces as you go. I find that handy when I make image backups for others as I can just give them their backup on a set of DVDs. I do the backup onto disk and copy to DVD later as I have found backup programs that attempt to go straight to DVD and split as they go can stuff up, just as you have found. AvonBill (11358)

Sadly, i dont have spare money to burn on another external now. DVDs are cheaper at this point.

If your current HD is partitioned - you can just throw the image onto the other partition . Then use whatever software you want to span it to numerous DVD discs .
