1140507 2010-09-30 11:01:00 Firefox for its addons: Firebug, Tab Mix Plus, Xmarks, Web Developer ...

Chrome has potential because it's quick but it corrupts Xmarks. Love the way pinned tabs turn into mini-tabs.

One of life's great mysteries is: why doesn't Google's own browser have a Google toolbar?

It's called an "omnibar" instead, and you do *everything* from it! :)

Searching, typing in URLs, site-specific searches, history ... It's awesome!

Al this time using Chrome and I didn't know you could 'pin' a tab!! Thanks for that.

I haven't had an issue with Xmarks in Chrome....

1140510 2010-09-30 19:26:00 OK, thanks everyone! Firefox wins by a mile (on both the poll AND what you guys said). I didn't put Opera because I've used it on my iPod Touch for a bit, don't terribly want it. jonathan (15437)
1140511 2010-09-30 19:46:00 Been with Opera since 6.7 and recently with Opera mail (Win7).

configurable ,easy to backup and deploy to a new build, have only used IE about 5 times in the last 10 years.

Will try IE9 when intergrated into SP1 Win7

Have looked at others but stuck to Opera

1140512 2010-09-30 19:50:00 Give Opera a chance, jonathan - the experience of using that browser on the Crapple platform is enough to put anyone off. That version does Opera a huge disservice.

Totally different experience on a PC.

True, it's good. But there are a few things the toolbar has which Chrome doesn't and that I miss enough to keep me with Firefox. The main one - when you do a search, the Google Toolbar shows link buttons to each of your search terms. Really useful if you're a search junkie.

I just received an email from Xmarks this morning. they're shutting down the service in 90 days. That makes Chrome a little more attractive.

blog.xmarks.com

White knight needed.

You're welcome.

Xmarks in Chrome has an alarming tendency to double up on your bookmarks if you're syncing with other browsers. There are fixes, but they only work sometimes and they don't work for me.

Anyway, as I said above, Xmarks is gone by Christmas unless someone comes up with big bikkies.
