You could try windows 7 home edtn, that has pretty much everything you would normally need. |

Microsoft :  |

| 1181315 | 2011-02-26 10:05:00 | I'll be interested to know what happens when they fully drop support for XP, will they take down the activation servers too? What happens if you try to activate your old XP? Will they say too bad? I'm glad there are other ways around it if that ever happens... This is why I never like online activation things. If the company goes bust or for whatever reason are unable to provide the activation what happens? Sure they may be able to write their own program to get around that but if they went broke they may not bother. I much prefer software which just needs a CD-key, you can install it and use it no matter what the circumstance or date. |

| 1181319 | 2011-02-26 21:11:00 | I suspect the same servers that activate XP will do all other versions of Windows as well. What it will mean is when End support rolls around for XP in April 2014, there simply wont be any more updates available. The Mainstream Support has already ended in 2009, so its only security updates currently working. |

| 1181320 | 2011-02-26 23:25:00 | I also hate when an old product is not supported. I got an old copy of paragon partition manager from an old magazine disk. I followed the url to the website and it said the promotion had expired. :crying I |
