1140658 2010-09-30 08:29:00 Thanks for the feedback so far, and just to clarify, if I bought a camcorder that is in NTSC version, I shouldn't have too many problems playing it in New Zealand, thanks. billylid (16005)
1140659 2010-09-30 08:42:00 No

1140661 2010-09-30 22:39:00 NTSC is a PITA. I avoid it whenever possible. Paul.Cov (425)
1140662 2010-09-30 22:56:00 What sort of trouble do you think i woulod have importing a NTSC camcorder from USA to NZ? billylid (16005)
1140663 2010-09-30 23:05:00 at worst, basically if you plugged it into a PAL tv your picture will be screwed.

What will you do with movies once the tape/disc/drive is full?

1140664 2010-09-30 23:14:00 Thanks for your feedback. It does however leave me really confused as i now have two different lots of feedback, some say yes and some say no to NTSC being ok in NZ. billylid (16005)
1140665 2010-09-30 23:39:00 NTSC is a PITA. I avoid it whenever possible.

Only at the transmission level which is now deceased. For anything else it's no different to PAL..

1140666 2010-09-30 23:43:00 Basically it boils down to your other hardware... eg If your PAL tv supports NTSC input then there won't be a problem, which is why I asked what else are you planning on doing with the media, because more problems could arise if you, for example, plan on editing via computer. 1140667 2010-10-01 00:11:00 I sort of wonder , now TV's are pretty much HD, 1080,720, why we still
have the 60 & 50 scan rates(wrong term??) for different countries. I doubt they would still
be using main freq for a internal freq reference/generator.
