1180650 2011-02-22 04:04:00 I have just downloaded Skypemate from yealink.net and on installation MSE detected trojan Backdoor:Win32.ursap!rts. MSE cleaned it out OK (presumably, because it said it did) but now I think I might need a more reliable source for Skypemate as I need to send a (clean) copy to my daughter.

That is the first time in many years that any download has thrown up an alert, so is it safe to use this installation of Skypemate now that it is cleaned, or should I uninstall and fine another source?

Cheers

Forgot to mention, I tried the Skype website first and couldn't find it, and the link on the Skype Community was dead as well.

1180652 2011-02-22 04:28:00 Well, the copy of SkypeMate that I downloaded is dead and gone as well. Seems that MSE killed it off. There was some stuff left in the SkypeMate folder including an uninstaller, so I ran that to get rid of the residuals.

It appears that the program isn't available at all from Skype, which is a bit confusing to say the least! Was it an aftermarket add-on that was a reputation ruiner or some such problem? Fortunately there's a rather old version on the DSE CD so I'll try that instead.

Seems nothing is easy these days. :(

Following on, the software installed OK, and the phone is live, but now I'm back where I started. I can't see how I initiate a VOiP cal to another computer, or find any explanation of how this is done.

Trouble is, I can't think of anybody I know who uses VOiP at present.

Cheers

I already tried that Speedy. but their 'contact us' link does not work.

No surprises there.............
