2011-04-03 06:23:00 | OMG I have finally figured out the problem! You need to set the audio driver mode in the BIOS to "Vista" for it to install! WeirdSomethings not right there. I have seen literally thousands of motherboards, and NEVER has there been a setting for a specific OS. Just had a look through the ASUS manual for that board, and the only options for the Audio are either the standard "enabled or Disabled" and options for the front panel connections. Please post a picture /screen shot of this BIOS settings, that shows Vista in the BIOS - Never seen one before.

2011-04-03 06:30:00 | Probably the manual refers to an older BIOS release, looking at the BIOS list: Version 0304 Description P5GZ-MX BIOS Version 0304 Support High Definition audio for Microsoft Vista operating system. Assume you need 0304 BIOS or higher to get the Vista option in Audio configuration in BIOS. EDIT: Just looked at BIOS 0304 in editor, I think I am correct (see attachment)

2011-04-03 06:50:00 | Thats not a standard screen option in a motherboard BIOS. While it may show it in your Pic, that option is not shown in the Normal setup options that I have ever seen. Thats why I asked for a screen shot of the Normal BIOS settings where it shows that.

2011-04-03 06:54:00 | This is the official Asus BIOS v0304 for that board (Asus P5GZ-MX) loaded in a BIOS editor program. I am fairly sure it will show up in the real BIOS menu also. I suspect it was probably a patch (as it was not present in the previous BIOS versions) implemented to work around a bug of some kind on that specific board, and thus you have not seen it anywhere else.

2011-04-03 06:59:00 | Yep, it very well may be specific to that board. Thats why I asked for a pic, I'm not saying it doesn't exist, Just never seen it before on any board in a normal setting/options, so I'd like to see it. Normally there are no options regarding a specific OS.

2011-04-03 07:07:00 | I've got a couple of older Asus boards from HP machines (Socket 370) which have an option in BIOS to select which OS you are using. Options are (if I recall correctly) DOS, Win9x, Win2000 and Other.
