1181561 2011-02-26 07:19:00 Thanx guys, but just realized, the floppy drive not working.
Whenever I insert a disk into it, it says I need to format disk. I format disk, and then it says i need to format it again!

If you have a non-USB 2.5" enclosure for the HD - that might work with the lappie HD.

Does it hav a CD or infra-red?

1181564 2011-02-26 07:31:00 Probably easiest to take the HDD out, copy the files onto it you need and put it back in. Agent_24 (57)
1181565 2011-02-26 07:36:00 I actually don't know if it would be worth all the effort. Still, it would be cool to try. bot (15449)
1181566 2011-02-26 07:39:00 You may be able to transfer the files via serial port and a null modem cable - IF Win3.11 comes with a suitable program.. not sure if it does,. Agent_24 (57)

There is a terminal program on it.

1181568 2011-02-26 07:53:00 It's a serial cable which is similar to that of a crossover ethernet cable in that the appropriate wires are crossed over.

This should explain it: en.wikipedia.org

They made 486DX laptops in 92 - must of been a high model at the time :p

We threw out a HP CD Writer (Parallel Port) some yrs ago.

I am sure there would be free software if you google - from the likes of daemon tools maybe. Laplink might of been used in the 3.1 days but not free even thou it's not worth anything now ..
