1182585 2011-03-01 09:02:00 It's a SATA drive - BenQ
What actually happens is that it loads files, then absolutely nothing happens.
I recently installed a copy of Windows 7 Enterprise on a sample machine. I had to use an external USB drive because the cd drive didn't have a rubber band in it - kids kept taking them. Anyway, it installed fine. It maybe a BIOS issue or something.

BTW, is there anywhere you can buy a bulk load of slot loading cd drives?

Could I install it from a flash drive, just wondering

1182588 2011-03-01 20:02:00 Just curious, is the W7 DVD burnt from an ISO or a genuine MS DVD ?

No reply to that question, huh.

1182589 2011-03-01 21:32:00 Has anyone suggested disabling the floppy controller in the BIOS? Betcha that will fix it. ;)

I see this all the time with Gigabyte boards - W7 install hangs on that screen with the nice background. Disable the floppy controller and the problems go away.

1182590 2011-03-01 23:01:00 I know Bitlocker (for the versions of Win7 that install it - ie: Ultimate), stuffs things up. After the first reboot (on some mobos), it wont install no matter what you do.

Only way to fix this, is to make the partitions bigger (so Bitlocker cant install). But, I dont think you're getting this far?
