| 1181790 | 2011-02-28 05:24:00 | Have you tried connecting the new computer to the Linksys Lan port or connecting the NetComm to the Linksys Internet port instead of the Lan port. I've tried both ways and it doesn't work... What are the IP addresses of each device? You also need to make sure that you only have DHCP enabled on the modem router so disable it on the Linksys. IP addresses as in the device's physical addresses? The Netcomm I left it the same 192.168.1.1 and I changed my Linksys when I first got it to 192.168.1.3. I think I do have the modem as DHCP... However I just checked and these were the settings for Linksys: s8.photobucket.com i8.photobucket.com So my Linksys was running on DHCP, but the weird thing is internet works if the new PC isn't connected to either the Linksys or Netcomm devices. Anyways as you were saying if I have only the modem as DHCP what should the Linksys be on i.e In the picture where it has Automatic Configuration - DHCP the drop down box only have Static IP, PPPoE, PPTP, L2TP and Telstra Cable as other options. |

| 1181792 | 2011-03-02 08:27:00 | OK so don't worry about the top part, where it says Automatic Configuration - DHCP. That's the settings for the WAN port on the Linksys. Under the local IP address section disable the DHCP server there. Leave the IP as 192.168.1.3. Now make sure you have a network cable from one of the ports on the Netcomm to one of the 4 ports on the Linksys NOT the WAN port. You should be good to go. You may need to reboot the Netcomm to make sure the DHCP server is going on it as it may have turned off when it detected the DHCP server on the Linksys. |
