1143218	2010-10-11 00:50:00	I fear now it will be totally dull, with presenters scared to have any fun with things. Racist comments are no fun when you are on the receiving end, and to be mocked because of your name is equally distasteful. All that is expected of those people whom we allow into our homes via TV or Radio is that they don't step over the line between good humour and cruelty. Mocking is a weak disguise for bullying, and our youth suicide rate shows the cruel reality of how such thoughtless behaviour can do immense harm. A good comedian (or humorous presenter) does not need to mock anybody, nor does a hard-nosed interviewer. If they can't do it with wit, intelligence and sensitivity they don't belong on our airwaves. Wherever Henry goes, I hope he has learned a little humility and humanity, he won't get too many more chances, this is a small pond. Billy	Billy T (70)
1143219	2010-10-11 00:55:00	I now understand why many people want leave NZ The “tall poppy” attitude and the small narrow minded points of view of the “minority”, always take sway over what most people think and or believe.. That Paul Henry made a few insensitive comments is really beside the point. Along with our MMP form of government, there is a very vocal and selfish few, who insist that the majority should bend to their way of thinking. If you don’t, you are then branded a racist or “red neck” ( whatever that means) We then get the bleeding heart liberal media, creating a frenzied storm over the smallest of issues. This is way beyond the Paul Henry issue but now all the manipulation of the press, MPs and thus the general population to fall in step with what a small clique desire. Today it would be fair to say, I am not proud to be a New Zealander. That TVNZ felt so pressured into making Paul Henry resign, speaks volumes as to the coercion applied. (No gods or deity's) There will be many here who will have read your wonderful and funny jokes, but some will see them as ageist, sexist, bigoted and raciest. Perception is an unmeasurable thing and what seems funny to some, is insulting to others. The problem is, your and my perception of what is wit, intelligence and sensitivity, may and does vary from a lot of other people What constantly surprises me is the way that people react to unintended slights, and the anger and fury in their responses. I have no issues with you not liking Paul Henry. I don’t like John Campbell’s way of news delivery so I just don’t watch it, but that doesn’t make him (John Campbell) a blithering idiotic moronic wa**ker! I now have a mental picture of you in front of a silenced TV, vehement and apoplectic with rage, as Paul Henry talks about something you can’t even hear. A tad disturbing! I say once again, your opinion maybe different to others, but that doesn’t make you right (or wrong). HH Have to say you are very articulate, easy to read and understand....great work!
