| 1143208 | 2010-10-10 21:22:00 | I now understand why many people want leave NZ The tall poppy attitude and the small narrow minded points of view of the minority, always take sway over what most people think and or believe.. That Paul Henry made a few insensitive comments is really beside the point. Along with our MMP form of government, there is a very vocal and selfish few, who insist that the majority should bend to their way of thinking. If you dont, you are then branded a racist or red neck ( whatever that means) We then get the bleeding heart liberal media, creating a frenzied storm over the smallest of issues. This is way beyond the Paul Henry issue but now all the manipulation of the press, MPs and thus the general population to fall in step with what a small clique desire. Today it would be fair to say, I am not proud to be a New Zealander. That TVNZ felt so pressured into making Paul Henry resign, speaks volumes as to the coercion applied. May you live in interesting times. Would have to agree with Happy Harry. My question is, if Paul had been on a late night satire/current events type show and had said those things, I bet it wouldn't of even made the news. Even here in the UK someone on the TV program Mock the week said "Shelia dikshit, Shelia dikshit that's a very unusual name for an Indian............Shelia. |

I just had to look at his antics with no sound on and he got on my nerves, so, so, so glad the juvenile little wa*ker is gone. |

| 1143214 | 2010-10-10 22:02:00 | I do find it interesting that the one advertiser named as having 'issues' with Henry was Progressive Enterprises. Yes it is interesting Paul that Progressive Enterprises call the shots on TV One. You do as we say or well withdraw our advertising. If Ellis had any gonads he would have sent them packing because the benefits of advertising on TV One must have exceeded the cost, or they wouldnt do it in the first place. Sort of cutting off your nose to spite your face. Now the luminary at Progressive has exposed the company to all the supporters of Henry (Some 30,000 on Facebook alone Im told) moving their trade from Countdown and Woolworths to New World. Maybe Progressive guys should stick to their own knitting. |

Martynz I acknowledge your specialist subject (Complete load of cobblers) I suspect that I have hit a nerve and you are one of the paranoid minority that think that everyone is against them. My point is, there has been a huge swing to political correctness and most media organisations will not comment against any minority in case they are judged as discriminatory, raciest or biased. Because this happens, the majority gets left out and the minority is seen as being the downtrodden and so must be protected Case in point, the 40 odd protesters that turned up outside TVNZ to protest against Paul Henrys silly remarks. Why was there not a balanced report shown of all the 10s of thousands, that were not shocked or offended. Are we to assume that all of those people are raciest? Being/taking offence is subjective and tolerance of differences should be a priority. Just because your views may be different to mine does not make me wrong or you right (or vice versa) it is about not being angry and outraged because others have a different opinion. As to the foil hat , rather that than a blindfold! |

I must confess I find it difficult dealing with that lot,as they rob us of our freedom to watch the likes of Paul etc,and that is hard to swallow . |

I have no issues with you not liking Paul Henry. I don’t like John Campbell’s way of news delivery so I just don’t watch it, but that doesn’t make him (John Campbell) a blithering idiotic moronic wa**ker! I now have a mental picture of you in front of a silenced TV, vehement and apoplectic with rage, as Paul Henry talks about something you can’t even hear. A tad disturbing! I say once again, your opinion maybe different to others, but that doesn’t make you right (or wrong). HH |
