1142665 2010-10-13 10:02:00 I had a pc bought to me once. It was beige. The owners said it had been getting slower and slower and would only boot after nth amout of times. I opened it up - and the interior was coated in dust+tobacco smoke.

I ended up stripping it down and washing most parts in the sink with warm mildy soapy water, dried *thoroughly*.

When I was finished it it was white! and booted every time fast no probs :D

1142667 2010-10-13 21:47:00 Super cheap autos sell mini (very small) compressors.
I bought a normal compressor (with air tank) + accessories for less than $200.
el cheapo, but it does the job.

Yeah, just checked that Supercheap autos do stock those 12V DC mini compressors. The one you bought is using Mains power or car battery power?

The smoke nicotine & dust all combine to create a monstrosity. It is so sticky it collects more dust at an exponential rate & is very difficult to clean, not to mention the smell :yuck:
