1142407 2010-10-07 17:59:00 Mmmm, I haven't actually got Internet access. Which is why I go via Terminal Server.

In fact I haven't got all my accesses yet - they add them in a bit at a time, as I get to grips with what I'm supposed to be doing.

IE 6 is standard anyway I think, well at least with TS, always getting user requests for IE 8 but they're not doing it just yet. They're not speedy.

I could try but I suspect if I did download it, it wouldn't help because I still have to use TS for the net.

Hey, at least I get to do that, not locked out totally. Haven't had a huge amount of time for it anyway, still reading piles of documentation on medical apps and stuff.

1142408 2010-10-07 18:19:00 As suggested in another post - I would lie low for about three months before telling the captain how to run the ship. Good luck and be patient.

Quite right S.

1142409 2010-10-07 19:21:00 At my school they used the inbuilt windows thing to limit IE7 so we couldnt use it for much, helpfully they had installed FireFox which wasnt affected by their draconian lockdown.

Just go to the advanced->network tab and change the proxy from balblablblah.blah.student.proxy to balblablblah.blah.staff.proxy and get 10MBs up and down

We used to bypass the proxy with FF, it used to support direct connections so if there were no proxy details entered you could get youtube and google. it got fixed:rolleyes:

You can't mention IE (any version) in conjunction with the following words:

Safe
Usable
Customisable
Functional
Good-looking
Fast
Open standards

Fully functioning by IE standards of course. :p

The only thing we can do in Firefox without proxy settings is access the school's webmail (which ironically doesn't work once you import the proxy settings from IE).
