1143285 2010-10-11 00:06:00 I remember a few years ago I was banned from a gaming site, nothing serious just got modded too many times over the years. Rebooted modem, made sure IP addy was different and signed up with a new email and username. Banned almost straight away.

Tried again, new email, ip, username, banned again. Then I realized I was using the same password as my original account. New password and bam, they didn't suspect a thing.

I wonder how many people actually use a completely different password if they create a new account, because IMO that is a very cunning way of doing it.

1143287 2010-10-11 04:17:00 The reason I asked is that my neighbor bought a used laptop and for some reason she is banned from places that she is visiting for the first time.

I have four neighbor/users on my WIFI, and I am sure that it's not MY modem - so I was wondering if it's the laptop that's bad.

Best to format and start fresh to be sure.

1143289 2010-10-11 05:20:00 My thoughts exactly. We're not forcing users to come here if they dislike the moderation. It's not like they paid for this service ;)

Still, without the members, we'd just have chiefs and no Indians, therefor no forums...
Enough of the racial slurs please Chill

1143294 2010-10-11 10:27:00 Bans aren't hard to get around (at least for viewing the forum). I know when I've been banned, I just force a logout, and read away. I don't think that's breaking any rules, is it?

But with the right knowledge (Tor, anyone?) you could hide quite well.

But then again I don't think this forum is big enough for people to bother with, after a while they'll just give up. Look at angry.

Thank god this isn't similar to 4chan. A few people have written and publicly shared auto-spammers for that site, so any moron can flood it with whatever they like. I shudder to think...
