| 1142871 | 2010-10-15 06:36:00 | There was a time when you could park a commercial vehicle just about anywhere as long as you were loading/unloading and left the engine running. I used to deliver in Queen St and my boss encouraged me to (even) double park if necessary, leave the hazards on and the engine running. Unfortunately, he was not interested in paying any parking fines so I did not do that too much. Don't think that any parking, in that case and except on loading zones, is permissible. might depend on where. this was auckland CBD. never used to get tickets. you just could not work in the CBD if you had to park 'legally'. it might just have been an understanding by the council but never got tickets for parking on footpaths, loading zones etc. (as long as you didn't block the foot path). even had a officer tell some SUV to **** off which allowed me to use the bay. no idea what its like now. |
