| 1183478 | 2011-03-04 08:16:00 | Having problems with Windows Authentication and Windows Security Essentials, SE tells me there are problems with my GENUINE Win XP installation, EACH WEEK! It gets me to download a MS proggy and authenticate. Apparently a known problem and in XP Home requires you to boot into safe mode, Log on as Admin, enable view hidden files and extensions- then go to C:\Documents and settings\All Users\App Data\Windows Genuine Advantage\Data and make changes to the Security tab to fix the problem, Only problem is, I can only go as far as C:\Documents and settings\All Users, there is no App Data showing! I have no problems getting to the data file with a normal boot. Any ideas? |
