1183114 2011-03-03 00:30:00 Anyone had any experience of Canon Laser LBP6000?

All we want is a very basic B&W Laser printer. We're open to suggestions.

1183115 2011-03-03 00:34:00 I bought one on Tuesday - the Linux x86_64 drivers are useless, but look fixable.

I have yet to get it to print a single page, but I'll keep you posted.

1183116 2011-03-03 01:59:00 Just got a HP P1102 printer from Corporate Consumables for $92 delivered. Haven't taken it home and tried it yet but it got OK reviews as a basic printer, which is all I need. user (1404)
1183117 2011-03-03 02:03:00 I have an LBP5000, which is the colour variation, and it's been a very realiable printer. It's about 5 years old now, which is getting on, but have had no problems at all and the running costs have been exceptional for a colour laser of its era. inphinity (7274)

Be interesting to hear how you get on with it.

1183120 2011-03-05 06:33:00 If they're still available, get a Canon LBP-3300. They're fantastic (fast, does auto-duplexing, and the toner is really cheap as it uses the same toner as a very common HP laser printer).

I'm onto my 3rd high capacity toner in 4 years, and have literally done tens of thousands of pages on it.

Plugged it in and it installed no problems. Works fine. Starts up quickly and print quality fine for what I want it for. Only beef is the help program links to some HP website which was unavailable that night for some reason. Went to the HP main site and downloaded the manual as a pdf so shouldn't need the website in the future.

Also got a printer cable in the box. The firm gave me the impression that I would need to purchase one in addition to the printer.

1183122 2011-03-05 22:45:00 The LBP3000 was horrible, but I believe their newer printers are back to their usual high quality. Greven (91)
1183123 2011-03-07 06:41:00 I've got one of these

www.dse.co.nz

and it performs fine for basic b&w laser printing. Shop around and get it cheaper than this.
