| 1183071 | 2011-03-02 22:15:00 | I have Leeenux v4.01 installed on my Asus Eee PC. It works great but if one tries to update the kernel or grub, problems happen. From day one, grub-pc has had problems configuring itself whenever software is upgraded\installed etc. Setting up rsyslog (4.2.0-2ubuntu8.1) ... dpkg: error processing rsyslog (--configure): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 10 Setting up grub-pc (1.98-1ubuntu9) ... dpkg: error processing grub-pc (--configure): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 10 Errors were encountered while processing: rsyslog grub-pc E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) On the first installation I managed to render the OS unbootable so I reinstalled and made sure not to do anything that has a critital dependence upon the configuration of grub-pc succeeding. How can I find what is causing this problem and fix it? I want to be able to upgrade everything without problems like this.... |

| 1183074 | 2011-03-03 02:42:00 | Have you tried purging them? It may still complain if they are 'partially configured' but may work. Then reinstall. You are using the correct repo's for the distro? You shouldn't normally get errors like this. Haven't added any 3rd party or vanilla ubuntu ones? I don't know anything about Leeenux so no idea what your sources.list should be. Is grub-legacy available in the repo? |

| 1183075 | 2011-03-06 20:18:00 | I'm a bit wary of doing anything major with it in case I trash the whole thing again. repos are default AFAIK, so shouldn't be a problem, but IIRC the grub-pc problem always existed. Don't know if it's a bug or something the Leeenux devs stuffed up themselves. |

| 1183076 | 2011-03-06 20:44:00 | Seems you are not alone. forum.eeeuser.com Something that the post-installation script is expecting to be there seems to have been removed. You could inspect said script to figure out what, and try to work around it. |
