1182943 2011-03-02 09:34:00 Would this be (in the link below) faster than a Phenom IIX2 550 3.1GHz?

In the process of selecting parts for a new Intel system.

1182944 2011-03-02 10:03:00 No it would not be.

Why compare a motherboard with a CPU?

1182945 2011-03-02 10:14:00 I was meaning the CPU in the motherboard. Is it faster than the Phenom. BTW the CPU is integrated in the motherboard in the link above. QW. (15883)
1182946 2011-03-02 10:34:00 Yep. I knew the CPU was integrated but if you want an intel system then the Phenom won't work will it? Snorkbox (15764)
1182947 2011-03-02 10:39:00 I know that the Phenom will not work with the Intel board. Just want to know if the Intel in my original post is faster than the Phenom. QW. (15883)
1182948 2011-03-02 10:44:00 Pretty much anything is faster than an Intel Atom, even a VIA Nano...

Phenom II isn't even in the same class... It's a high end desktop CPU while the Atom is a low-power and comparatively rather low-end CPU designed for netbooks etc.

In my post (#2) I already said it will not be faster.

1182950 2011-03-02 18:47:00 Intel Atom?? About the slowest CPU you could get.

here, read this:

1182951 2011-03-02 22:26:00 Celeron (dual core) beats Atom.
Pentium (dual core) beats Celeron (dual core)
AMD Athlon II X2 beats Pentium (dual core)
Phenom II X2 beats Athlon II X2

That Atom beats a Pentium 4, but not by a lot:
